Phone: 509-520-8623Send Karen a message. My background has prepared me well for real estate. I started milking cows on the family farm at age 8, so I learned early how to work hard and take responsibility. I progressed to driving grain truck and a combine for many years with Hansen Harvester, my family’s custom harvest operation. In fact, I put myself through college with my earnings by saving carefully. In real estate, I will be as careful with your most valuable asset—your home.
In 1990, I founded CompuTec and worked diligently to develop databases and provide computer training. With a Master's degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences, it prepared me to be a good listener and a cheerleader for clients. With my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, I enjoy helping Spanish-speaking people realize their dreams of owning a home.
In 2001, I founded the Northwest Renewable Energy Festival. The Walla Walla Valley possesses extraordinary opportunities to use our local natural resources, namely solar, hydro, biomass, and wind energy. In 2007, because of our broader reach beyound renewable energy, we changed the name to the Sustainable Living Center, which is located at the Water & Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College. http://www.sustainablelivingcenter.com.
In 2009, we applied for a grant to provide weatherization assistance to homes in Walla Walla. We were awarded $700,000 in federal incentive funds by WSU to provide energy assessments for 2000 homes. Of those 2000 homes, we’ll choose 175 homes to weatherize (seal ducts/penetrations and insulate) in order to help the owner/renter save energy costs. We will work in tandem with Blue Mountain Action Council’s (BMAC) weatherization program and help those who may not qualify for their program.
My personal goal is to build a very energy efficient home. I am encouraging the local building and housing industry to better utilize conservation, recycling, and renewable energy in their developments. In real estate training, I completed my Eco-Broker designation so I can better assist clients in making good home choices.
After working with wonderful computer clients for over two decades, it is natural for me to use the same skills in real estate, such as:
- Listening
- Problem solving
- Patience
- Helpfulness
- Vision
- Openness
- Honesty
My late husband, Bud, and I were married almost 30 years. We had a special kind of magic with each other. Over the years we were so blessed to be able to share our special kind of magic with clients.
I look forward to working with you to find that perfect home or to help you sell your property so you can move on. We'll have fun in the process. Please let me know how I may serve your needs.
“Just think…you’re here not by chance but by God’s choosing. His hand formed you and made you the person you are. He compares you to no one else. You are one of a kind. You lack nothing that his grace can’t give you. He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill his special purpose for this generation.” –Author Unknown
